Synthesis of the Diarios de campo

In the field diaries, the ages of the students, their behavior in the classes and the objectives that were expected were explained. The students were from 9th and 11th grade, with ages between 15 and 19 years old, who were willing to learn a new language, some of them already had some skills in it and allowed that within the classes different strategies were applied as didactic activities to improve and deepen their knowledge, in order to acquire more skills and master the second language, analyzing the context and formative needs of each of them to make improvements and use strategies that satisfy the cognitive development.

Description of the observed population

9th and 11th grade students between the ages of 15 and 19,

from stratum 2, since they live near the educational institution.

Some students in these grades have a good level of English, they demonstrate it in class and the others have the skills to learn it.

They are active, respectful students with a desire to learn and are very participative in class.

They show positive and negative behaviors according to their age.

Observation Practice highlights

During the internship process I experienced wonderful moments that make me love this wonderful profession of teaching more and more every day. 

First of all, I would like to highlight the great respect and warmth from the students towards me, I always received good treatment and attention from them in the middle of the classes.

It was incredible to see how they trusted me to solve their doubts and to be able to answer properly in class.

They are very active and caring students and made me feel part of the institution.

When I gave classes they were very participative, they asked questions, helped each other and above all they learned through the didactic classes that I implemented.

It was a great joy and encouragement for me to receive comments of gratitude from them.

Methods

I choose the audio lingual and natural methods. I like the audio lingual method because it allows students to understand more English vocabulary through interactive activities and with videos, audios or the same voices or sounds and to master it.

The natural method is effective when students are beginning their learning process in the second language, so it is interesting to identify their ability to listen and repeat those words of a specific topic.

Conclusions

• In conclusion, the pedagogical practices are a formative process that allows the future teacher to acquire expertise in subjects that go beyond preparing and applying a class; various characteristics and aspects that are seen within the educational context must be analyzed.

• On the other hand, this gives the ability to perform within the scenarios and every day be better at what is done, setting an example and demonstrating that teaching is a wonderful profession that allows teaching and learning.

• Also, the process leaves experiences of all kinds and it is up to the future teacher to take the good to improve it and the bad to change it and to go on emerging and advancing to show new knowledge every day.
